Despite its age, San Roque New course is a very mature course. A variety of large and deep bunkers filled with crushed marble sand waits for your drives from the tee and shots toward the greens. An abundance of cork and oak trees outline many of the fairways. The Old Course at 6,508 metres and par 72 is the pride of the club. Sotogrande G.C. Opened in 1964 and is the oldest golf course in the Cadiz area of the Costa de Sol. This golf course, designed by Robert Trent Jones, is considered one of the top golf courses in Europe. Located close to the beach, west of the city, Sotogrande in an American style environment (wide roads) with impressive villas Host of several major golf events and given the royal status on its 30th year anniversary, Sotogrande Golf has got everything: A diversity of pine trees, cork oak trees, distinctive high palm trees, eucalyptus trees and other tropical plants are part of the rich mature vegetation. Multiple beautiful water hazards make the wonderful surrounding of Real Club de Golf Sotogrande complete.
Day 6 – Gibraltar B
Gibraltar Rock tour + shopping day, Europa point, St Michael Cave, Panorama views, Apes den, Museum. Steeped in a history that has evolved from its strategic location at the southernmost tip of the Iberian Peninsula, where Europe meets Africa, visitors are assured of breathtaking scenery, wildlife and architecture, that captures the unique flavour of this Mediterranean City and its inhabitants.
Day 7 – San Rogue Golf Course B
Dave Thomas, course architect, boasts San Roque Golf Course is a challenging course and this is why the majority of players feel they have played “reasonably well”. However, this course still remains one that gives pleasure to players of all standards. Between Jerez and Marbella, almost at the tip of the Iberian peninsula, lies one of Europe’s most secluded and exclusive golfing resorts. Here, in the foothills of the Sierra Bermeja, the peace and natural beauty of Andalucia is complemented by a stylish retreat where five-star facilities and an 18-hole championship golf course are enhanced by a friendly atmosphere.
Day 8 – La Reserva Golf Course B
La Reserva course boasts excellent facilities comprising a large 18-hole course designed by Cabell Robinson and a splendid Clubhouse. The golf course opened in August 2003 and has already made a reputation as one of the best in Spain. It is a long course with wide, undulating fairways and well guarded greens. The greens are often multi-level with slopes and speed to deal with. Enjoy the amazing views from every hole.
Day 9 – Valderrama Golf Course B
This is a tough Trent-Jones course. Often ranked the #1 course on the European mainland and hosted the 1997 Ryder Cup match. Valderrama has two prevailing winds: the poniente from the land, which in summer can be very hot, and the levante from the Mediterranean, which brings a cooler sea breeze. The changing conditions add variety to a golf course that is already rich in shot values. http://www.valderrama.com/
