Day 1   Tuesday, March 24, 2020  –  International flight to Prague

4:30 Meet at the Edmonton International Airport for your flight to Prague, Czech Republic.

KLM 676 departing Edmonton at 18:30, arriving into Amsterdam at 10:15 + 1 day

Day 2   Wednesday, March 25, 2020  –  Prague

Overnight: K+K Central Hotel 4* or similar

KLM 1355 Depart Amsterdam at 12:15, arriving into Prague at 13:40.  Welcome to Prague! You will be greeted by your TYW guide and transferred to your hotel.  The rest of the day is yours to explore with Gillian Scragg, your TYW representative.

Day 3   Thursday, March 26, 2020  – Prague

Enjoy a walk along the Valta River and the amazing skyline of one of Europe’s finest cities. Begin with your guided tour of the Old Town where you will see the beautiful Main Market Square with the famous Orloj clock, Church of St. Mary’s at Tyn and the magnificent Gothic Charles Bridge – the pride of Prague. 

Visit the Hradczany district with the magnificent Royal Castle and the impressive medieval St.Vitus Cathedral. Stroll through the former Jewish Quarter and discover all the highlights including the Old-New Synagogue, Jewish Cemetery, Pinkas Synagogue, Maisel Synagogue and the Jewish Museum. During this tour you will learn about the Jewish heritage in Central Europe and its effect on the European history and culture. Experience the John Lennon Wall, where the wall is ever changing with graffiti and messages of freedom. To call Prague an artistic city is a huge understatement. From literary to painters and musicians, Prague is art. 

Day 4   Friday, March 27, 2020  – Prague

This is a day to explore, shop and enjoy the parks.

Option #1 : Day excursion to Cesky Krumlov – Today you explore the village of Cesky Krumlov, a UNESCO world heritage site  built on the Vltava River around a Gothic castle from the 13th century. The two great landmarks of Cesky is the Chateau, one of the largest in Central Europe, and the Gothic Church of St.Vitus. This amazing castle complex is composed of more than forty historical buildings and  a cylindrical tower was reconstructed in its present form in the 16th century. Under the Castle Complex lies the old town with its winding alleys and venerable Gothic and Renaissance homes, many galleries, little shops and inns. This will be a day  that you  will never forget. Late return to Prague

Day 5   Saturday, March 28, 2020  – Prague

This is a day to explore, shop and enjoy the parks.

Option #2Karlstejn Castle. Visit the stunning Karlstejn medieval Castle, built by Charles IV from 1348 to 1357 to safeguard the crown jewels of the Holy Roman Empire. Although the castle had been changed over the years, with such additions as late Gothic staircases and bridges, renovators have removed these additions, restoring the castle to its original medieval state. A sight to behold!

Option #3:  Kutna Hora is a small town near Prague, which in medieval times used to be the silver mining centre and one of the homes of the royal family. Stroll through the Old Town admiring the beautiful Gothic church of St. Barbara. 

Visit the Ossuary – a unique chapel built in the 18th century to commemorate the victims of the black plague death and wars where this chapel is completely decorated with human bones. A fabulous combination of history, art and culture!

Day 6   Sunday, March 29, 2020  – Krakow

After breakfast, continue your adventures to Krakow, the former capital of Poland.

Enjoy your journey as your travel from Czech into Poland. Leaving behind the city of Prague, you will experience all that this beautiful has to offer with an amazing countryside. Your private transfer today offers you the best way to experience rolling hills, lush forests  with lakes, all topped with fairy tale castles and quaint rural settings. Approximate drive 8 hours with stops along the way.

Krakow ~ is best known for its well-preserved medieval core, the expansive Rynek Główny (market square) surrounded by the remnants of the city’s medieval walls. This wonderful plaza is the site of the Cloth Hall, a Renaissance-era trading outpost, and St. Mary’s Basilica, a 14th-century Gothic church. Krakow is one of TYW’s most favourite destinations. Be sure to try the cherry vodka!

Day 7   Monday, March 30, 2020  – Krakow

Today you will explore Krakow and her treasures. Visit the Main Market Square (the largest medieval square in Europe), the splendid St. Mary’s Basilica, (with the biggest medieval altar in Europe), the Cloth Hall and the Wawel Hill with the magnificent Royal Castle and the Cathedral.   

Option #4:  This evening tour the famous Wieliczka Salt Mines. One of the oldest and the largest salt mines in Europe and listed as a UNESCO site. During your underground tour you will see the treasures of the mine, the chambers, lakes, chapels and including the famous St. Kinga’s Chapel with its magnificent decorations all carved entirely from salt. Included is your private transfer

Day 8   Tuesday, March 31, 2020  –  Krakow

Today explore, shop and enjoy the wonderful city square.

Option #5:  Auschwitz. Tour Auschwitz with the exhibition in the prisoners’ blocks, the crematorium and the gas chamber. Then continue to Birkenau to see the largest extermination camp built by the Nazis during World War II. Here you  will see the Gate of Death, the unloading ramp and the wooden barracks. Return to Krakow. Private transfers included.

Day 9   Wednesday, April 1, 2020  – Krakow

Next follow Oskar Schindler and the Schindler’s Jews. Before the Second World War Poland was home to the largest Jewish community in Europe. During the tour you will discover traces of the more than 800-year history and culture of Jews in Poland, which almost completely ceased to exist after the war. Explore Kazimierz, the former Jewish district and the film locations of  “Schindler’s List”. Spend the rest of the day to explore, shop and enjoy the wonderful city square.

Option #6:  Guided tour of the Jewish Quarter and the visit Schindler’s Factory Museum

Day 10   Wednesday, April 2, 2020  –  Zakopane to Budapest, Hungary

After your breakfast, enjoy your trip to the Tatra Mountains, the highest mountain range in Poland. Visit Zakopane – a ski resort, known as the winter capital of Poland. Located in a picturesque valley at the foot of the Tatras, Zakopane attracts visitors with its unique atmosphere, traditional wooden architecture, magnificent cuisine and the folk culture of the local mountaineers. See the traditional wooden buildings, the best example of the Zakopane style, famous local market and spend some time for hunting for the perfect souvenir.  Transfer to your hotel in Budapest and then head out for your first taste of the rich Hungarian cuisine.

Day 11 Thursday, April 3, 2020  –  Budapest

After breakfast, begin your day with a walking tour of Buda where you will see the Royal Palace with baroque facade of 300 m that overlooks the Danube, the Gothic Matthias Church and the Fisherman’s Bastion, a neo-set Roman ramparts and turrets that resembles a fairytale. Visit Pest, an entertainment and shopping district with the impressive building of Neo-Gothic Parliament, and monumental Heroes’ Square with the numerous statues from the Hungarian history.  End this great day in the charming town of Szentendre (Sen ten dre, which means St. Andrew) ~ located at the bend of the Danube River and founded in the 14th century. Return to Budapest.

Day 12 Friday, April 4, 2020  –  Budapest

This is a day to explore, shop and enjoy the wonderful Market Hall or on Vaci Street. Stroll around the old Jewish Quarter ~ now a place with a bohemian kind of spirit and lovely cafes.

Option # 7:  End the amazing adventure with a Cruise on the Danube River and a special farewell dinner including a Gypsy music and a folklore show.   

Day 13 Saturday, April 5, 2020  – Overnight flight to Edmonton

Depart Budapest on KLM 1974 at 11:30, arriving into Amsterdam at 13:40

Important Notes

This is a quotation only and neither reservations for services nor hotel bookings have been made. Availability of all services is guaranteed upon confirmation of first deposit. Small deviations in the tour program are sometimes necessary, depending on weather, road conditions, flight schedules and hotel availability and the number of travelling participants. Therefore, quoted rates might change accordingly.

Booking Conditions

Applications and Confirmation: ALL TYW documents as: 1) Application, 2) signed waiver, and 3) Payment agreements, must be completed and handed in by the due date to ensure your place and confirmation.

All deposits are to be made to Travel Your World International Ltd. First deposit is non refundable by TYW.

Late Payments: All payments 1 – 15 days past due will result in a 10% late payment penalty. All payments 16 – 29 days past due will result in a 15% late payment penalty. If the scheduled payment and penalty amount(s) are not received within 30 days from a scheduled payment date, TYW assumes the participant will not be travelling and refunds will be subject to Travel Your World’s cancellation policy. Should the participant still wish to travel on the tour, this must be communicated clearly in a written format to Travel Your World and the full outstanding amount(s) plus penalties must be paid within 24 hours of providing notice.
